OUR STORY

THE BRAND

XOCHI brings thoughtful hand crafted and slow-made designs for any mood. Whether its statement studs or detailed dangles we got you covered for any occasion! Express yourself with XOCHI!

We love to incorporate different mediums and materials to create beautiful and unique designs. XOCHI was made to empower your inner deity while paying homage to the Aztec goddess Xochiquetzal.

Xochiquetzal was associated with concepts of fertility, beauty, and female sexual power. She served as a protector of young mothers and a patroness of pregnancy, childbirth, and the crafts practiced by women such as weaving and embroidery. She was always depicted as a young woman adorned with beautiful flowers and jewelry.

Her name, Xochiquetzal, is a compound of xochitl "flower" and quetzalli "precious feather". There is a tale of the goddess Xochiquetzal demonstrating her true power by seducing a priest to later transform him into a snake. This goddess' story and my Mexican heritage inspires our logo and designs.

THE DESIGNER

XOCHI is a latina and queer owned business, ran solely by the owner / creator / designer, Tania. Tania's preferred pronouns are she/they. Tania is born and raised in Tri-Cities and still resides to this day with her two dogs, Marley and Pharrell. She's a self-described foodie, artistic, and loves to make people laugh (count her in for anything comedy!).  She loves to be creative (in any form!) and had really focused on painting until she hit a creative rut. In search of other creative outlets, she ran across polymer clay earrings - she was so intrigued she had to try! It didn't take much to fall in love with the medium and how much fun it was to create art inspired from people and things she loved. That's when she decided to share XOCHI with the world. Creating a space to showcase pieces she's proud of and a place to offer these pieces to empower the inner deity in you!
